Cardiff 46 spent most of its life working the routes from Cardiff to Merthyr and Tredegar, very long routes for Crossley double-deck operation. It has an Alexander body supplied by Scottish Commercial, which caused a lot of confusion in earlier days.

ECW-bodied PD1s were quite common after the war, but most of them did not survive too long as they were timber-framed and only poor quality wood was available. Fortunately Hants and Dorset 1145 (GLJ 957) still survives.

This Wallasey TD7 (which was new with a torque convertor) had the Metro-Cammell body rebuilt in an unusual way by the Police, who ran it for some years. It has been repainted in a livery similar to that originally used by Red and White, who had similar style bodies on prewar Regals.
